My journey in surgical excellence began with a rigorous foundation in general surgery under the mentorship of Consultant Surgeon Dr. Seevali Thilakarathne. Since commencing my plastic surgery training in 2009, I have had the privilege of honing my craft under five of Sri Lanka’s most eminent Consultant Plastic Surgeons: Dr. Dulip Perera, Dr. Chadini Perera, Dr. Romesh Gunasekara, Dr. Dammika Dissanayaka, and Dr. Thushan Benaragama.
This expertise was distinguished further by foreign training at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia, under the supervision of Dr. John Vandervord. Following my board certification, I accepted my first appointment as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Jaffna Teaching Hospital, followed by tenures at Teaching Hospital Kurunegala and the National Hospital Galle. Today, I perform a comprehensive spectrum of reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries, with a special interest in craniofacial surgery.
